The Interview at Sea, protagonist of the exhibition at the Casa della Pesca in Cavallino-Venezia
We restarted in June with our summer special screenings, starting in Bologna on June 3rd and then at Cinema in Piazza in Rome on July 3rd. Now, we’re continuing our near-perfect monthly schedule with another exceptional screening on August 6th.
The next stop on our summer special screening tour will be right on the waters of Venice. Yes, because this time, the location is truly special. The screen will directly overlook Venice’s Northern Lagoon, and the screening will begin just after sunset.

The Casa della Pesca, which hosts local fishing cooperatives and offers excellent fishing tourism, is organizing the “Tra reti e Scatti 2025. Rediscovering the culture of fishing” event in collaboration with the Caorle Film Festival, among others.

In short, L’intervista in mare (The Interview at Sea) incorporates, once again in a different blend, all the elements that define its identity and objectives. It discusses fishing, or rather, “fishing culture,” and it does so directly in places where this culture takes shape in community life and is open to the community, such as fish tourism (a theme the author of L’intervista in mare was keen to incorporate into the narrative). It does so through film projected directly onto the water.
Ours will be the second installment in the film and photography series that began on June 25th with the screening of Boreana by Emanuel Toffolo and Jordan Carraro, a highly recommended documentary that explores the life, traditional fishing, art, and relationship with tourism on the island of Burano.
The excitement of returning to Venice, after the special screening at last year’s Venice Film Festival, is already palpable. It will be a true homecoming, and it will also be the second opportunity, following the screening at the G7 summit in Syracuse, to meet fishermen and the community of which they are an integral part.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6th at 9:00 PM at the Casa della Pesca, Lungomare San Felice, Punta Sabbioni, Cavallino-Treporti (Venice). Director Ludovico Ferro will be in attendance, along with representatives of the trade unions, fishing industry, and government officials. Admission to the event is free. Stay tuned for news on the website, the film’s Facebook page, and Instagram, because we’ll soon be announcing the dates of our next special screenings (we’ll even be sailing far away again!), and we’ll try not to fall too far behind with our reports on what we’re experiencing in this wonderful summer of 2025!
