The Interview at Sea returns to one of the most meaningful locations where it was filmed

The tour of special screenings for The Interview at Sea continues. The most recent event took place in the stunning setting of the Venetian lagoon in Cavallino on the evening of August 6th (announcement article here), while the tour began with the June screening in Bologna (Cinema Odeon, article here) and the July one in Rome (Cinema in Piazza, article here). With the upcoming stop, we are inaugurating a new kind of special screening: returning to the very places where the research and documentary filming aboard fishing vessels and in ports were carried out.

On September 29th, The Interview at Sea will return to Gallipoli for a screening dedicated to the Apulian public. The excitement is already high, as this will be a special occasion to meet and involve in the event the fishermen who were protagonists of some of the stories we told.

The chosen location is among the most significant and beautiful one could imagine. We will be right in the heart of Gallipoli’s historic center, at the magnificent Basilica Cathedral of Sant’Agata, for an open-air screening—something that, in Puglia, remains possible and delightful even at the beginning of autumn.

More specifically, as indicated on the poster below, the event is scheduled for:

Monday, September 29th at 6:00 PM
Outdoor atrium of the Basilica Cathedral of Sant’Agata
Via Duomo 1, Gallipoli (LE)

Special screening Gallipoli

As has happened before, we are somewhat behind in reporting on the previous three screenings. But this time, the delay is partly intentional. We realized that allowing a little time to pass after each event helps us create a fuller, more in-depth recap, and therefore a more useful one. Certainly, this summer season of screenings deserves to be thoroughly documented, but for now we are prioritizing the urgent announcements of the upcoming special screenings that will take place between October 2025 and January 2026. A couple have already been set (one of which abroad), while at least two more are in the process of having their dates and times finalized, and the rest are already defined. Finally, there are at least three or four others currently in the works.

So stay tuned for updates—also on The Interview at Sea’s Facebook page—because we will surely be stopping by, or returning, to your area!
